Mountford House — A fabulous transformation
Until recently Mountford House was a depressing highrise block that cast a gloomy shadow from its elevated section of the M5. However, as part of a new redevelopment project to reburbish a number of residential blocks in the area, Sandwell High Rise Decent Homes Team has been astounded by the fabulous transformation of 'Mountford House'.
Working in conjuntion with MIB Facades, Lovell, a Wetherby Insulated Render System was applied which incoporated 100mm Mineral Wool Insulation and 1.5mmK Silicone Render in two brightly contrasting shades of blue.
In addition to its striking aesthetical apperance, the thermal performance of the block was greatly increased to its u-value reduced from 1.7W/m²K to 0.29W/m²K. This will result in a significant reduction in the amount of energy tenants have to use to keep their homes at a comfortable temperature.
